  • Getting Married: {One of His signs is this: that He has created mates for you from yourselves that you might tranquility in them, and He put between you love and compassion. Surely, there are signs in this for people who reflect.} (Al-Qur'aan, 30:21)
  • In-Laws: ‘Aa'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ, “Who has the greatest rights over a woman?” He said, “Her husband.” She asked, "And who has the greatest rights over a man?” He said, “His mother.” (Reported by al-Bazzar with a hasan [good] isnaad [chain].)
  • Being a Pious Wife: The Prophet ﷺ said, “Look at how you are with him – the husband – because he is your Paradise and your Hell.”(Narrated by Ahmad (18524); classed as hasan in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah (220).)
  • Polygyny: {If you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, marry women of your choice, two or three or four. But if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with them, then only one.} (Al-Qur'aan, 4:3)
  • Domestic Violence: The Prophet ﷺ said: “The best among them are those who are kindest to their wives.” [Bukhari and Muslim]
  • Infertility, Miscarriages and Birth Control: {To Allaah belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills. He bestows female (offspring) upon whom He wills, and bestows male (offspring) upon whom He wills. Or He bestows both males and females, and He renders barren whom He wills. Verily, He is the All-Knower and is Able to do all things.} (Al-Qur'aan, 42: 49-50)
  • Pregnancy/ New-Born: {..his mother bears Him with hardship and she brings Him forth with hardship, and the bearing of him, and the weaning of Him is thirty (30) months, till when He attains full strength…} (Al-Qur'aan, 46:15)
  • Raising Children: The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said, "When a man dies, all his acts come to an end but three; recurring charity, or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious son, who prays for him (i.e. for the deceased)." (Saheeh Muslim)
